You can make a payment with your Debit Card if your Gem Card account has been overdue for more than 30 days. To make a payment, go to ‘Make a Payment’, select or enter the payment amount. You can then either ‘Set up debit card’ under payment method by following the instructions or use an existing debit card, e.g. if you have used this payment method before and saved your debit card. You can save/update your card for future payments to your account. It’s that easy.
Some things to keep in mind:
- You can make payments between $10.00 and $5000.00 per transaction. If you’d like to pay more than that amount, you can select an alternative payment method including bank transfer. View our NZ payment options here.
- Paying by debit card may take 1-2 business days because it needs to be settled with your financial provider. But your Available balance will be updated almost immediately.
- You can use any debit card that has been issued by a local financial institution. Unfortunately, we can’t accept payment by any international debit cards or any credit cards. We do not accept EFTPOS.
- You will be able to see, update and remove your saved cards through the Make a Payment option on the Latitude Service Centre.
Why can’t I make payment with my debit card?
You won’t be able to pay by debit card if your account hasn’t been overdue for more than 30 days. Where that’s the case, you’ll need to select from one of our alternative payment methods like bank transfer via the Latitude Service Centre. View our NZ payment options here
