We’re making some changes to the Gem Visa credit card that will come into effect on 11 February 2026. Here are answers to common questions.
Currently, general purchases on your Gem Visa of $250 or more automatically receive 6 months interest free on those purchases. From 11 February 2026, this will no longer occur automatically.
Instead, you will need to select eligible purchases in the Latitude App or Service Centre within 30 days of purchase to receive 6 months interest free on those purchases.
From 11 February 2026, you will be able to:
- Spend $250 or more on general purchases in a single transaction using your Gem Visa.
- Wait for the transaction to post. Login via the Latitude App or Latitude Service Centre and click on your card to view the account details.
- Under the Transactions tab or via My Plans, if you are eligible, you’ll see the Enjoy 6 months Interest Free banner. Click Create a plan. You must select your purchase within 30 days of the date the purchase was posted.
- Continue with the on-screen 2-step process to create an Interest Free plan.
You’ll need to repeat these steps each time you want to add a new eligible purchase to a plan.
If you don’t select your eligible general purchases within 30 days of purchase, the transaction will no longer appear for selection for 6 months interest free.
No. From 11 February 2026, foreign remittances will not be eligible for selection for 6 months interest free.
They may still be eligible for up to 55 days interest-free, provided you pay your modified closing balance as shown on your statement by the due date.
Foreign remittances are considered funds transfers, not purchases, so they no longer qualify for promotional interest free terms.
