We understand how stressful it can be if you’re affected by fraud. That’s why we’ve made it easier for you to report fraud quickly and securely using our online form.
If an account has been opened or an application submitted in your name without your knowledge or consent, complete our Application Fraud form.
The information you provide will help our Application Fraud Team to:
- Understand the nature and extent of the fraud
- Investigate and resolve your claim
- Correct any inaccurate details reported to credit reporting bodies, such as:
- Equifax
- Centrix
- Illion
You may want to consider contacting each of the credit reporting bodies to:
- Get a copy of your credit report
- Look for any enquiries or accounts you don’t recognise
- Request a credit ban or suppression, which prevents others from accessing or adding information to your report for a limited time
If you’re a victim of fraud, report it to your local police station and request a police report or reference number.
If the fraud happened online, you can also report it at: https://www.police.govt.nz/use-105
