1. What is the digital card in the Latitude App?
Your digital card is a secure version of your physical credit card available in the Latitude App.
It includes:
- Your card number
- Your expiry date
- A dynamic CVV/CVC(DCVV)
You can access your card details anytime without needing your physical card.
Only the account holder can access a digital version of their card details.
2. What is a Dynamic CVV/CVC (DCVV)?
A DCVV is a three-digit security code that changes regularly, unlike the CVV/CVC printed on your physical card which only changes when you are issued a new card.
- It is generated securely when you view your card in the Latitude App
- It is not stored
- It automatically updates after a set period
This helps protect your card details from being used fraudulently.
3. Why does the DCVV in the Latitude App keep changing??
Your Latitude App shows a DCVV/CVC to:
- Reduce the risk of fraud
- Prevent reuse of your card details
- Keep your online transactions more secure
Because it changes regularly, even if your details are compromised, they cannot be reused easily.
4. Can I use the digital card for online purchases?
Yes, you can use your digital card for online purchases including setting up recurring payments where the merchant verifies the card details immediately.
Do not use your digital card for transactions that may not be processed immediately after you submit the card details, for example an online mail order transaction, as the DCVV/CVC may expire before the payment is processed.
5. Do I still need my physical card?
It depends on how you use your card.
You can use your digital card for:
- Setting up payments or making purchases online or over the phone using card details
You’ll need your physical card for:
- In-person purchases where the merchant requires the physical card e.g. check-in at a hotel
- ATM withdrawals
- Contactless payments (unless using a digital wallet)
You can use your physical card details anywhere your digital card details are accepted. However, unlike the digital card, you must activate your physical card before using it.
6. Is the digital card secure?
Yes, your card details are protected by:
- Secure Latitude App login
- End-to-end encryption
- DCVV/CVC that changes regularly
Your DCVV/CVC is generated securely and is not stored.
Whether using the physical or digital card details online, you may be asked to verify your identity with a one-time code sent to your phone or email.
7. What happens if I don’t have my physical card yet?
You can still use your card right away.
Once your account is ready:
- Your card details will be available in the Latitude App
- You can start shopping online immediately
This is helpful while you’re waiting for your physical card to arrive.
8. What should I do if my transaction fails?
If your transaction doesn’t go through:
- Return to the Latitude App
- Check the latest DCVV/CVC shown
- Try again using the latest DCVV/CVC displayed in the Latitude App
The previous DCVV/CVC may have expired.
9. Will this change how I’m charged or billed?
No.
- Your transactions are processed the same way
- There are no changes to fees or billing
- All transactions appear as usual on your account
10. What happens if my physical card is lost or stolen or my digital card details are compromised?
Turn on the temporary lock on your card and then:
- Report your card as lost/stolen using the Latitude App, Latitude Service Centre or by calling Latitude and a replacement card will be ordered for you.
- Your new card details will appear automatically in the Latitude App
- You can use your new digital card details immediately, provided the temporary lock has been turned off
This ensures uninterrupted access to your card details.
11. How do I request a physical credit card?
Go to the Manage Card screen in the Latitude App or Latitude Service Centre to request a physical card. Once requested, your card will be sent to your mailing address.
Aside from a damaged or lost card replacement, you cannot request another physical card if you already have one.
